In 1961 Maharani Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Education Society, Sangli was planted in 1961 with the help of barrister T.K.Shendge Saheb and many local education enthusiasts in the small village of Zare.
Atpadi taluka situated in the hills on the hill side in a rural and drought prone area. the first branch was started at Ped Taluka Tasgaon, followed by the second branch at Zare Taluka Atpadi, on the occasion of Jawaharlal Nehru Vidyalaya.In the year 1991. A Junior college was established in the village as a Gnyanganga of Zare.
